Klout announces Klout for Business

It’s here! Klout is giving businesses what we’ve long been waiting for… Klout for Business.

For those who aren’t obsessed with checking their Klout score, or for those who’ve never heard of it (really?)… Klout provides a measurement of a person’s or brand’s social media influence. It crunches all of the social networks you provide it (such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+, etc.), and then gives you a score, and category on how engaging you or your brand is. A Klout score is 1-100, with 100 being the top score. (Barack Obama, for example, has a Klout score of 98.)

Klout itself is its own social network too – letting you connect with friends, and add clout to their Klout.

Aside from an ego boost, Klout also allows you to find the top influencers in your interests or industry.

Businesses have already been using this tool, through Klout Perks, as a way to reach out to their top influencers, to sample their products, retweet their tweets, or mention them in a top blog, and so on.

Now, through the Klout for Business platform, brands can better use the service to identify individuals who may be able to amplify messages about their products or services.

Klout announced the program Wednesday. It is rolling out over the next few weeks. If you are a business, now is a great time to sign up! Or read more on the Klout blog.
